Episode 37 changes gears and moves back into professional development where I share with you a few things that I have learned from being a payroll professional. And no, we will not be talking about payroll taxes or anything like that! So no worries.

The world of payroll can be crazy and drama filled but also offers the opportunity to shine and be at your best.

So the goal of this episode is to share with you some of the great lessons and life skills that I learned while being a payroll professional that you can apply to your life as well.

I bet some of you didn’t even know that I’ve been a payroll professional for several years now. While I haven’t been actively practicing it for the last year, I could easily jump back on tomorrow if I wanted to. Payroll is one of those careers that I am pretty sure most people just fall into because the job is handed to them and they either love it or hate it.

“Being a payroll specialist is easy. It’s like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire, you’re on fire, everything is on fire and you’re in hell.”

-Unknown

We will talk about :

– How I got started

– Some things that I love about payroll

– Some of the empowering skills payroll has enhanced for me

– The benefits of improving those skills

– One important tip for your next job hunt

The world of payroll is complex and never boring and quite often is a perfect reflection of our world. But it has taught me some incredible things over the years like challenging my analytical skills, being resourceful and most importantly growing my people skills. Everything I have learned has enhanced my life and can be applied to anything.

Please make sure to subscribe in Apple Podcasts or the player of your choice if you haven’t already so you never miss out on the fun. What have you learned from your jobs or profession, we would love to know! Share it below. Together we will be the changes and differences we want to see in the world. If you think someone else could benefit from learning about personal development, feel free to share this with them. I look forward to connecting with you next week!

Don’t forget to check out this week’s episode of Kickass Every Day TV. I will be sharing with you some great ways to make working with everyone at your job easier.

Till next time-
